A Note from our director Gwyn Stetler

Recently, Friendly Senior Center member Pat Ortli donated the funds for our new security system. I asked if I could share about her gift in order to teach about the impact you can make by sharing right here with your local center. Pat said, "I give because I believe in it." That "believing in us" touched me.

You may not know it, but the budget at the Senior Center is very slim. We are truly operating on a shoe string. We have been for years. These days, for us to keep the lights on, bills paid, provide adequate compensation and even more, for this place to thrive as a beacon in the community, we need to seek new ways of generating precious resources. I'm trying to do my part, searching for grants and engaging each of you with philanthropic opportunities right here. Stewardship truly is a spiritual practice, to me. As you consider your charitable contributions this holiday season and throughout the year, please consider your friendly senior center as one of your beneficiaries. You know the importance of what we do. We want to do it even better-with you!
